Custom Concealment Cyclops X360 provides advanced surveillance coverage at large apartment complex located in Minneapolis, MN.

When Cyclops Technology Group met with the client it was made clear – we have always considered surveillance for our property, however, we do not want to blemish our architecture with cameras all over the place. In addition, provide a surveillance system that will cover the entire property and utilize technology that will get information that will solve crime. Of course the customer wanted to maximize investment at installation and be able to afford maintenance that will extend the life of their surveillance system.

The apartment complex spanned a large area and was constructed with a decorative earth tone brick facade. Buildings were a brick construction with tenant space making up 100% of the interior space. Property has an entrance with a common parking area in the center. Property borders a park, with a sport path running through a portion of the south perimeter. Call out areas of importance include: playground, easements, handicap ramps, entry to the parking lots, building entries, rear doors, as well as, perimeter sidewalks, bike path and stairways.

The customer had previous evaluations which all limited to traditional methods, it was estimated there would be a need to install 85 cameras, of which the customer objected to the proposals they felt would damage the architecturally clean and cosmetic image of the property. Secondly, traditional techniques will require cameras mounted at individual locations with the following requirements: cabling, protective enclosures, conduit, surge suppression, etc.. This in turn multiplies the infrastructure requirements by each device. Of course, this multiplies the cost of the installation.

Consequently, this installation would have resulted in 75% of the systems actual cost. Simply put, traditional methods are high in labor and low in product. With the proposal of just 5 Custom Concealed CyclopsX360 units, CTG was able to address all of the challenges and provide a cost effective cosmetically appealing surveillance system that the customer felt comfortable with. Because of the “All in One” CyclopsX360, CTG was also able to propose savings on install, as well as, a maintenance plan of less than 4% over the first 15 Years. How is it possible?
